Abstract

The Modern Art Week of 1922 was so important for Brazil’s cultural scenario that even today its pioneers and their actions are deeply studied, proving that an uprising of ideas can have effects that reverberate for centuries. The aim of this article, far from drawing exhaustive conclusions, is rather to provoke new thoughts about the movement based on artistical, political and legal aspects of it, all mixed together: the true face of Brazil.
